Not only are our Breakfast events perfect for networking and catching up with members, we also host Breakfast ‘Spotlight’ sessions, allowing our members to tell us more about their businesses along with useful insights. In September we heard from Gillian Keartland, of Vida Promotions, and Kara Birrell from Refresh – Strategic Business Support.
Vida Promotions
Gillian gave us a fascinating presentation on the huge benefits of branded merchandise in business in comparison to the cost of advertising, and more importantly, on using sustainable products.
A study conducted by the BPMA
found 91% of customers who
receive a logo-branded item of
clothing would wear it. Who knew a branded hoodie is likely to have 6100 impressions during its life span!
Gillian also spoke about the order process for businesses to use her services.

Refresh – Strategic Business Support
Kara gave a talk on how her previous experience in Hotel Management has given her a multitude of transferrable skills to support all businesses, especially when it comes to profit margins.
She used the example of the demise of Thomas Cook as to how the ‘top line’ isn’t an important figure in business, it’s the gross profit figure that’s vital!
Kara also spoke about the freelance business support she offers and the benefits of using a freelancer, along with client stories.

We welcomed two new members to the Chamber last month and it was great to meet them both in person at September’s Breakfast event.
Natascha Maenhaut from Roche Wills and Trusts
RoCHe Wills & Trusts, founded by Natascha, is focused on delivering an Estate Planning service that protects assets for future generations. They’ve supported many families across the South of England with their estate planning.
Their goal is to ensure that you are utterly satisfied with their service, by recognising that each of their clients has their own, unique set of circumstances and designing their estate planning to meet their specific requirements.
Working in association with Countrywide Tax & Trust, their estate planning documents adhere to the S.T.E,P. Will Writing Code, giving you peace of mind that they are doing the best possible job in helping you plan for the future.
Emma Stileman from Hampshire and IOW Air Ambulance
Earlier in September, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance launched an appeal Operation Airbase Appeal, save time, save lives. This marks a historic moment in the charities history.
After extensive planning and talks with Southampton Airport, they have received approval to purchase a building.
This will mean that if they move, they will be able to reach almost everyone within Hampshire and Isle of Wight within ten minutes, saving those critical minutes when it matters most. Not only this, but it will also mean that they can improve crew wellbeing, provide better aftercare services and reduce their emissions.
However, as they are a charity and receive no government or NHS funding, they will not be able to do this without extra support.
Take a look how you could help, even do a Fire Walk this month to help raise money!
