Lymington district chamber of commerce

About us

Being a Chamber of Commerce brings its own responsibilities, but also brings the recognition that comes with a tradition going back to the 18th century in the UK.

About the Lymington & District Chamber of Commerce

The Chamber of Commerce is an institution in the UK and we take our responsibilities very seriously, aspiring to earn the respect of the community and other organisations within the community. The Lymington Chamber of Commerce, was founded in 1952 to facilitate business in Lymington and the surrounding area and is still going strong. Although the LDCC is overseen by the Chamber Board, and it’s amazing Committees, we very much believe in the maxim ‘Your Chamber, Your Choice’.

The main purpose of the LDCC is to help members promote their own businesses and facilitate an environment which is as helpful to acheiving that as possible. In order to do that we actively pursue engagement with the local authorities and other organisations in the area. We have good links with the town council, (not just because they are a Chamber member!), and help sponsor various incentives by them throughout the year. Being a Chamber of Commerce there is rightly a high expectation of conduct both by members and of the LDCC as a whole. We do not owe any particular political affiliation, our job is to work with whatever political hue is in charge at the time and represent our members’ interests at all times with a collective mindset. So if you have a business or organisation in Lymington and the surrounding area, there is space for you in the LDCC. If you haven’t already, please join us today.

About the Area

Lymington is well known as the town in the New Forest, and we also have a thriving marine industry with two large marinas in addition to the famous Quay. There are a large number of small (& some large!) businesses in the area who find the LDCC a place to find new business and maintain business relationships, all in a lovely warm community environment. In the relatively new Ampress Business park, Lymington has become home to an increasing number of manufacturing, retail and other businesses. Milford on Sea is rightly renowned for it’s annual food festival and the number of restaurants situated within easy walking distance and the views across the Solent to the Needles on the Isle of Wight from the beach front. Brockenhurst has become one of the main staging posts for holidays in the New Forest National Park with it’s wide range of hotels and good transport links. We have the beautiful town of Beaulieu not so far away, another gem that we are so well nestled in the centre of. LDCC strives to be the heart of the business community and empowering all our members to achieve the very best for, with and amongst our community.
